Dangerous Goods Regulations are enforced by government-trained Inspectors. They may be police officers, weigh-scale operator or other government employees.
Inspectors have the authority to:
- search shipments or vehicles\seized and hold goods
- take samples
- make copies of documents
- refuse entry into Canada of shipments of vehicles
A certificate of designation issued to an inspector under subsection 10(2) of the Act must be in the following form:
