Preparation of Documents
A consignor (shipper) is defined in the TDG Regulations as "a person named in the shipping document as the consignor, or imports or who will import dangerous goods into Canada, or, has possession of dangerous goods immediately before they are in transport".
  1. It is the responsibility of the consignor to prepare a shipping document or an electronic copy of a shipping document when offering dangerous goods for transportation.
  1. A driver may need to act as a shipper and a carrier when picking up goods from an unattended location. If the location is unattended, the shipper may need to complete a shipping document.
