All shipments of dangerous goods must be accompanied by a shipping document (e.g. invoice, waybill).
A shipping document identifies dangerous goods being handled, offered for transport or transported.
- Four (4) documents apply to the shipment of dangerous
goods depending on the mode of transport and the type
of goods being shipped:
Straight Bill of Lading Form- for shipments by ground under TDG
- Shippers Declaration of Dangerous Goods Form- for shipments
by air under IATA
- Waste Manifest- for shipments of hazardous waste (Alberta Environment uses a manifest system to track the movement of hazardous waste from its place of generation to its point of receipt.)
