Common Workplace Hazards / Tools
  1. Select the proper tool for the task at hand.

  2. Inspect tools and equipment prior to each use. If damage is noticed, do not use the tool. Tag it and report the deficiency.

  3. Only use the tool for the purpose it was intended and be aware of all safe working practices.

  4. Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.

  5. Do not carry sharp or pointed tools in pockets.

  6. Use appropriate PPE for the hazards of the tools/ equipment and tasks.

  7. Workers should never use tools or equipment they are not qualified or properly trained to use.

  8. Some tools or equipment require certification to use.
