Supervisors Role

This course will help you understand the major features of an excellent health and safety program, some of the underlying factors that affect the program's quality, and some of the safety issues you will face as a supervisor.

Being a professional supervisor requires much more than learning information. It requires a continual process of thinking about your responsibilities and exercising your judgment in all kinds of ways. It means drawing on your own experiences and other peoples' experiences, and applying a combination of information and experience to your own worksite.

The same thinking process that applies to the traditional parts of a supervisors' responsibilities also applies in the area of safety. This course is designed to get you started in applying that process to health and safety-related issues. This first step is to start you talking with other participants and to find out what kinds of experience's people in this group bring to the course.
